Colossians 3:1-4 (NKJV)
1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
When we are born, we have no relationship with God. We are dead in our trespasses and sins. We are slaves to sin and have no desire to live our lives in a way that would please the Lord. We might be a morally upright person or an evil person but without Christ we are all separated from God. We may be religious or non-religious but without Christ we have no hope in this world. When we are born again or born from above, we are a new creation. The old has passed away and the new has come.  We now have Christ living in us and have been given new desires, attitudes and motivations. If our life has been changed by God, we are told to seek things that are above and not earthly things. We are to set our affections on things that are heavenly. We now have the ability to say no to that which is wrong and to say yes to what is right. There are some things that should not be a part of our lives if we belong to Christ: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. We are also to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to each other. If we belong to Him, when He returns, we will go to live with Him forever.

Do all to the glory of God
