One of our memory verses for this year in “Summer in the Horse” is “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.  Joshua 1:9.”  This scripture tells us that one key to overcoming discouragement is to be strong and courageous. That strength does not come from ourselves, but it is a gift received from God. The courage that He is giving us is also a gift from God.  It is more than human strength that is expressed in the words “no fear.”  It does not necessarily mean a lack of fear, but expresses an attitude of not allowing that fear to rule our lives. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV).”  When we are leaning on God, trusting and knowing that He is there with us, we then have the confidence needed to face whatever difficulties come into our lives. It is in our relationship with Him that we receive everything we need to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. Praise Him for His goodness and mercy to His beloved children.

Do all to the glory of God
